How to ... (No2)

So, what have I decided to make my focus on this brief ... well after a serious amount of thought, I actually realized I didn't have a clue how to reply to a written invitation myself!  Perfect ... Target Audience - Students! 

So ... now I have my target audience set in focus, what do students relate to i.e - tv, adverts, magazines, newspapers, posters, flyers etc!  So after a fair share of writing and thinking, I decided the best way to make this visually interesting and something actually useful and educational (while being aesthetically pleasing) 

was to produce a colourful poster, using illustration and type ... fantastic!

Below are some of my design sheets so you can see the general direction in which this brief is taking me at the moment (before our first pin-up crit tomorrow) 

So basically the design sheets above show my development of the illustrations which I intend to use for the subjects of a birthday and funeral ... the speech bubbles are where I plan to write out how to reply to the event if its formal (the box speech bubble) and a informal (the rough edge bubble) it needs a fair amount of development yet, but I think the idea is strong enough to be carried forward!
